What pays off for this particular house?
Kronwatt works through the house's electricity hour by hour, for a whole year. You see what solar panels, a battery or a different electricity contract would save, in kronor. Kronwatt also states its assumptions.

Three steps from house to answer
You don't need to know how to calculate energy. Kronwatt asks the questions and does the sums.
-
1
Describe the house
Where it is, how it is heated and how much electricity it uses a year, counted in A kilowatt-hour (kWh) measures an amount of energy, such as electricity or heat. A new freezer uses about 250 kWh of electricity a year. Glossary: kWh. If you have the house's The electricity the house buys, hour by hour, as the grid company measures it. You can download them from the grid company's website. If the house has solar panels, solar power used directly in the house is not included. Glossary: hourly readings, you can upload them.

Kronwatt works through a whole year
All 8,760 hours, at real prices for the house's Sweden is split into four electricity price areas, from SE1 in the north to SE4 in the south. The price can differ between them. Glossary: price area.

You get a report on the house's electricity and a comparison of contracts and batteries. You can also make a plan in several steps and an offer with your own brand.
What Kronwatt calculates today
Kronwatt answers questions about the house's electricity, from the contract to the battery.
-
Electricity contract
Compare A contract where you pay the same price for every kWh for the whole term, for example a year. Glossary: fixed price, A contract whose price follows the exchange as an average over the whole month. Glossary: variable price and A contract where you pay the exchange price hour by hour, or quarter by quarter. Electricity you use while the price is low costs less. Glossary: hourly price contracts for this particular house.
-
Battery
See which size pays off and whether simple or How the battery is run. Simple control stores only solar power you can't use right away. Smart control plans each day around the hourly price. Glossary: smart control suits best.
-
Solar panels
Plan in solar panels and see what they produce over a year.
-
The tax deduction
The A tax deduction when you install solar panels or a battery. It comes straight off the invoice, so you pay less from the start. Glossary: green deduction is included, and so is the cap on what each owner can deduct per year.
-
A plan in several steps
Spread the purchases over five years, with a budget for each year. The plan is not saved.

Make an offer for the homeowner with your logo and your colours, and go through it together on screen.
Kronwatt does not yet calculate insulation, a new heating system or The house's grade for energy use, from A0 (best) to G. It is shown in the energy declaration. Glossary: energy class. We want Kronwatt to do that. You can work out single measures, such as insulation and heat pumps, in Åtgärdskalkylen, a free prototype.
An example: the house near Uppsala
The house has a heat pump, solar panels and an hourly price. The question is whether a battery pays off.
The battery saves about 4,300 kr a year and pays for itself in about nine and a half years. The app assumes it lasts ten years.
How we worked it out
Kronwatt states five assumptions for the answer itself:
- We calculate as if the control knows in advance how much electricity the house uses and the panels produce each hour. Prices are known the day before, but a real battery has to guess the rest. So this is the best case.
- We calculate as if the battery holds as much electricity year after year.
- The control plans one day at a time.
- The battery costs 8,000 kr per kWh it holds, installed. That is a typical price, not a quote.
- The prices come from a single year: August 2025 to July 2026.
Also, the house's hourly use is estimated from its yearly total, and the solar power is modelled. The same assumptions appear in the app under the result, in English.
Per year
Once
20,000 kWh a year, heat pump, 10 The size of a solar array: how many kilowatts it gives in full sun. Glossary: kWp of solar, hourly price and smart control. The bill is after income from sold solar power. Rounded.

Energy and climate advisors
Show the homeowner when the house uses electricity and what it costs. Show too what a different contract or a battery would save, and what the figures rest on.
How Kronwatt works -
Energy experts
Work out single measures in Åtgärdskalkylen. Read how What it costs to save one kWh with a measure. If that is cheaper than buying the energy, the measure pays off. Glossary: cost per saved kWh is worked out in practice.
