The Home Energy School
A course about everything in a house that uses energy. The heat, the walls, the water, the car, the panels and the bill. We start with what a A kilowatt-hour (kWh) measures an amount of energy, such as electricity or heat. A new freezer uses about 250 kWh of electricity a year. Glossary: kWh is, and end with whether a measure pays.
It is free. It needs no account. You need to know nothing at all to begin.

The basics
What the words mean. Start here if you have never worked with energy before.
-
Modul 01 · Easy
What is energy?
Power and energy. What a single kilowatt-hour buys. And why the house is a leaking bucket.
-
Modul 02 · Easy
What is electricity?
Volts, amperes and watts in plain words. Why the fuse trips, and what it actually protects.
-
Modul 03 · Easy
What does the bill say?
Two invoices, four parts, and four kronor in every ten going to tax. Every line explained.
Your house
Where the energy goes. Heat, water, walls and ventilation — and how to read your own house.
-
Modul 04 · Moderate
Where does the energy go?
The whole house in one picture, and the trick that finds what costs most without showing.
-
Modul 05 · Moderate
Burning heat, or moving it?
Heat pump or wood stove. The difference between making heat and moving it, and what that costs.
-
Modul 06 · Moderate
The house that leaks
Insulation, windows and ventilation. Why the last twenty centimetres do so little.
The kit and the money
Solar, batteries and contracts. And the hardest question: does it pay?
-
Modul 07 · Moderate
Solar panels on the roof
What a roof gives across the year, how much of it you use yourself, and what exported electricity is worth after 2026.
-
Modul 08 · Advanced
The battery in the garage
What it holds and how fast it gives. Where the value sits — and where it no longer does.
-
Modul 09 · Advanced
The electricity contract
Fixed, variable or hour by hour. And why a bound contract must never be compared with an average.
-
Modul 10 · Moderate
The electric car in the garage
What ten kilometres costs at home, why the fuse is the limit, and why the biggest charger is not the best.
-
Modul 11 · Advanced
Does it pay?
Three figures are called profitability and can give opposite answers. Plus seven questions to ask a quote.
